TAGTHAi EASY PAY, an electronic wallet for foreign tourists, is now available for international travelers.

TAGTHAi EASY PAY is a digital payment solution developed by TAGTHAi in collaboration with Kasikornbank, allowing international travelers to enjoy hassle-free cashless transactions throughout Thailand. Tourists can easily make payments using Thai QR payments at various locations in Thailand.

TAGTHAi EASY PAY is linked to Kasikornbank's prepaid PAY&TOUR card. It offers a safe and convenient alternative to exchanging currency and carrying cash. The "Scan & Pay Like a Local" feature allows international travelers to make quick and seamless transactions just like Thai residents.

●How to get started with TAGTHAi EASY PAY
Tourists can obtain a PAY&TOUR prepaid card at Kasikornbank's foreign currency exchange offices at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Don Mueang Airport, and more, or at booths in over 100 branches offering the service throughout Thailand. The process is simple. Just present your passport, exchange your currency, and receive your card for free. There are no application or card fees. To find a booth, see Kasikornbank Currency Exchange Locations.

Once users receive their card, they download the TAGTHAi app on iOS or Android, select "EASY PAY" and enter their passport number and card reference number to link their card. Once they confirm the PIN they set during registration, their e-wallet will be available for use.

●How to use TAGTHAi EASY PAY
Users open the TAGTHAi app, select "Scan and Pay", scan the merchant's Thai QR payment code, enter the amount, and confirm with their PIN. A confirmation screen will appear if the payment is successful.

They can also withdraw cash without fees at Kasikornbank ATMs up to 10,000 baht per transaction per day. The exchange rate guarantee allows travellers to request a refund within 15 days and have the balance converted back into their original currency at the same exchange rate, as long as it does not exceed 10% of the total top-up amount.

Visa-free stay in Thailand to be shortened from 60 to 30 days

As a stimulus measure for the tourism industry, which has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Thai government has allowed passport holders from 93 countries and regions, including those who previously only allowed a 30-day stay, to stay for 60 days without a visa since July 2024, for tourist purposes only.

However, in response to the issue of crime bases on the Thai-Myanmar border, which caused a big stir in January this year, there have been voices saying that "criminals are also in Thailand and the visa-free system (which allows long-term stays) is being abused," and there is discussion of the possibility of shortening the visa-free stay period for tourist entry to Thailand from the current 60 days to 30 days.

However, details are still to be worked out, and the specific implementation date has not yet been decided.
