Chinese EV "Neta" Thai-produced model deliveries begin
Neta Auto (Thailand), the Thai subsidiary of Chinese EV manufacturer Hezhong New Energy Vehicle, which develops electric vehicles (EVs) under the "NETA" brand, announced on May 31, 2024 that it will begin delivering its own EV "NETA V-II" produced at the Bang Chang General Assembly Co., Ltd. factory in the Bang Chang Industrial Estate in Bangkok. This is the first time that Hezhong New Energy Vehicle will produce outside of China.
The sales price is 549,000 baht for the "NETA V-II Lite" model and 569,000 baht for the "NETA V-II Smart" model. It will be sold at more than 50 showrooms in Thailand.

Bangkok Metropolitan Government to tighten regulations on street vendors
Bangkok has announced that it will implement stricter regulations on street vendors as part of a comprehensive strategy to reorganize the city's public spaces.
Under the current proposed regulations, vendors operating within officially licensed areas will be subject to income assessment and will have to pay tax if their monthly income exceeds 25,000 baht. All vendors will also have to register with the country's income tax system to maintain their operating status.
The proposed regulations also require vendors to strictly confine their activities to designated zones and keep these areas clean. Failure to comply could result in a ban on vendors.
These proposed changes will be put to public hearings to get feedback from the community and final tweaks will be made before they become official.
