No immigration cards required at some land and sea borders in Thailand for a limited time until October 15th

The Immigration Bureau of Thailand has announced that foreigners entering and leaving Thailand by land or sea are no longer required to fill out and submit an immigration card (TM.6) at some border points. At this time, this is a temporary measure until October 15th.

When entering and exiting Thailand by air, TM.6 cards have already been abolished from July 2022. This time, the following 16 immigration locations (8 by land, 8 by sea) are now exempt from TM.6.

ZIPAIR cancels 6 flights to Bangkok due to aircraft maintenance

Low-cost airline ZIPAIR has announced that six flights between Narita and Bangkok will be canceled due to aircraft maintenance.

The following six flights are eligible.

4-day Songkran water festival brings in 500 million baht to Bangkok's Khaosan Road

According to Chairman Sangha of the Khao San Road Business Association, during the four-day Songkran water festival from April 12 to 15, 2024, Khaosan Road generated sales of approximately 500 million to 600 million baht.

According to the chairman, 600 stalls were set up during the water festival on Khaosan Road alone, with an estimated 400,000 visitors over the four-day period.

During the five days of Songkran in 2024, the number of traffic accidents decreased, but the number of deaths increased.

During the five days of Songkran 2024, traffic accidents decreased in Thailand, but the number of fatalities increased slightly compared to the previous year.

The number of accidents from April 11 to 15, 2024 was 1,564, a 10.4% decrease from 1,745 last year. The number of fatalities increased slightly from 200 to 206. The number of injured decreased by 8.3% to 1,593.

Thailand's Public Health Minister Dr Cholnan Srikaew said no fatal accidents have been reported in 17 of the country's 77 provinces so far.

Chiang Rai had the highest number of fatal accidents at 61, while Bangkok and Chiang Rai also recorded the highest number of fatalities at 13 each. The highest number of injuries was reported in Nan, where 60 people were reported to have been affected.

The main cause of accidents is speeding which accounts for 43.2% of accidents. This was followed by drunk driving at 23.9% and dangerous lane changes at 15.3%. 83.8% of all accidents involved motorcycles.
