Simplification of quarantine procedures when entering Japan
Until now, when returning from Thailand to Japan, voluntary quarantine was forcibly required, but from March 1st, quarantine is no longer required for returning from Thailand, and public transportation can also be used. However, the complicated and time-consuming airport quarantine procedure when entering Japan still causes great inconvenience for travelers using the airport.
The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan has announced a "fast truck" that can simplify airport quarantine procedures when entering Japan.
Fast Truck can be used by previously registering the questionnaires, the pledges, the vaccination certificates, and the negative infection certificates within 72 hours before departure on app "MySOS" 16 hours before the scheduled arrival date and time of the boarding flight. By completing this registration in advance, the airport quarantine procedure will be greatly simplified when entering Japan.
Fast Track was already in trial operation at Haneda Airport from March 1, 2022, but from March 9, 2022, it will be available at Narita Airport, Chubu International Airport, Kansai International Airport, and Fukuoka Airport, and will be in full operation. Starts. Currently, fast trucks are available at a total of 5 airports.
For details, please refer to the official website of "Fast Track" of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare or the publication of "Fast Track" of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Travel lane without quarantine to start in mid March between Thailand and Malaysia
The scheme called the "Vaccinated Travel Lane" (VTL) is planned to start between Thailand and Malaysia by air. VTL allow fully vaccinated travelers to enter both countries without quarantine.
VTL-eligible flights will begin operating in mid-March, with at least 10 scheduled daily flights. Specifically, there are plans to operate up to 6 flights a day between Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, and 4 flights a day between Phuket and Kuala Lumpur.
The VTL scheme was agreed during an official visit by the Prime Minister of Malaysia on February 25 to Thailand. According to Thai government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, talks between the two countries are proceeding smoothly towards a final agreement. It is possible that more routes and flights will be added if further discussions proceed in the future.
Malaysia has already implemented a VTL scheme with Singapore and is about to implement a similar VTL scheme with Thailand. If the VTL scheme will be launched, it is expected to have a significant positive impact on the Thai economy.
