Pattaya aims to reopen border in September
Currently, Covid-19 infections are skyrocketing across Thailand, but Pattaya is seeking the way to reopen its borders to foreign tourists in September without 14 days of quarantine under a scheme similar to that of Phuket and Surat Thani.
On July 7, Mayor Sonthaya Khunplume of Pattaya met with Deputy Mayor and people in the tourism industry to discuss plans to reopen Pattaya.
At least 70% of Pattaya's population must have completed the first Covid-19 vaccination for the border reopening plan to be approved. The Thai government is currently trying to focus on "dangerous" groups such as Bangkok, where the spread of the infection is particularly large, but there is a problem with the production of AstraZeneca vaccine produced in Thailand, and now it is. Vaccine supply has dropped significantly. No vaccination plans have been decided for the general population of Pattaya.
In this situation, the Pattaya authorities are cooperating with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and will submit a border reopening proposal to National Security Council and the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration.
Make a wish on Tanabata day in Thailand
Tanabata is a romantic star story in which Orihime and Hikoboshi, who had been separated over the Milky Way, can meet only once a year at the Milky Way on the night of July 7th every year.
The customs of writing your wishes on a Tanzaku, which is small paper, and hanging on bamboo leaves and praying to the stars on Tanabata season is widely popular in Japan and overseas as well.
Even in Bangkok, it is famous that there is a shop where you can hang Tanabata Tanzakus on Sukhumvit Soi 33/1.
Tanabata is a day for men and women to spend time together. Currently, the restriction of coronavirus measures has been strictly regulating the movement of people and meetings with people and also taking away the oppotunities of meeting men and women.
May the measures for the coronavirus succeed, Thailand, Japan, and the world return to normal as soon as possible, and everyone can get back a happy life again.
All the staff of 101 Premier Massage pray for Tanabata with this wish.
