On August 29, the Bank of Thailand (BOT) announced that it will issue new 50 and 100 baht banknotes starting November 21.
The newly issued 50 and 100 baht polymer banknotes feature enhanced anti-counterfeiting technology, including transparent windows that can be seen from both sides, embossed denominations, and special ink that changes color depending on the angle. Additionally, to accommodate the visually impaired, the notes feature Braille-style embossed symbols indicating denominations and diagonal transparent embossed lines on both ends. They are designed to be easier to distinguish by touch.
The basic design is the same as the banknotes currently in circulation.

The annual Akha Swing Festival, celebrating the traditions, rituals, and highland culture of the Akha people, Chiang Rai's most vibrant ethnic group, is back again this year.
During the festival, Akha villagers gather around tall wooden swings against a backdrop of clear skies and green trees. This is a rare opportunity to witness the living heritage of the Akha hill tribe.
The Swing Festival honors Eum Sayae, a goddess believed to bring fertility to crops and the land. It also expresses deep respect for Akha women, who prepare their gorgeous traditional costumes for the festival months in advance. The festival's highlight is a swing made from a large wooden beam. The swing is used in symbolic ceremonies and festival games. Akha women in traditional attire pose together during the festival, holding bamboo musical instruments. Two Akha women in traditional attire swing together over a beautiful mountain landscape.
