Thai Lion Air to Launch Bangkok-New Chitose Route Starting December 1st

Low-cost carrier Thai Lion Air will launch a new route from Bangkok to New Chitose on December 1st, 2025.
The route runs from Don Mueang to Kaohsiung (Taiwan) to New Chitose. Flights operate three round trips per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The aircraft used is a Boeing 737.

The planned flight schedule is as follows:

The number of foreign visitors to Thailand in July 2025 was approximately 2.61 million, a significant decrease of approximately 288,000 from the approximately 2.322 million in June 2025.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports (MOTS) of Thailand released statistics on the number of foreign visitors to Thailand

According to data released by MOTS, the number of foreign visitors to Thailand in July 2025 was 2,610,369. This is a significant decrease of 287,597 from the 2,322,772 in June.

The number of foreign visitors to Thailand fell by approximately 589,000 from January to February, approximately 399,000 from February to March, approximately 173,000 from March to April, and approximately 280,000 from April to May, resulting in a dramatic decrease of approximately 1.44 million over four months. While there was a slight increase of 56,000 visitors from May to June, there was another significant decrease of approximately 288,000 visitors from June to July. Furthermore, compared to the same month last year, July saw a significant decrease of over 15%. June also saw a significant decrease of over 15% compared to the same month last year, resulting in another significant decrease compared to the previous year, following June. Compared to the previous year, the number of Chinese tourists in particular has dropped sharply. Thailand's economy is currently in a severe slump. I believe that tourism, Thailand's main industry, is the key to revitalizing the country's economy. I sincerely hope that the number of international visitors will increase from August onwards, and that the Thai economy will once again improve.

Traffic restrictions will be in place from 12 noon to 9 pm on August 2nd due to a rally at Victory Monument in downtown Bangkok.

On the evening of July 31st, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) announced that traffic restrictions will be implemented on surrounding roads, resulting in irregular one-way traffic and lane changes, due to a planned rally at Victory Monument in downtown Bangkok from 12 noon to 9 pm on August 2nd. No roads appear to be closed.
