Thailand's national football team, the War Elephants, defeated Syria 2-1 in the King's Cup final at Tinsuranonda Stadium in Songkhla Province on October 14 to win the King's Cup for the first time in seven years.

The victory gave Thailand its 16th championship in the history of the tournament and its first victory outside of Bangkok in a Four Nations Tournament.

Goals from midfielder Ekanit Panya and captain Chanathip Songkrasin sealed the victory, with Chanathip scoring the winning goal in extra time.

A crowd of 24,121 packed the stadium for the match, with fans adding to the electric atmosphere.
