Over the past decade, Suvarnabhumi Airport's facilities and services have undergone numerous enhancements, rising from 68th place in 2023 to 58th place in 2024 in Skytrax's ranking of the world's best airports.

Airports Authority of Thailand (AOT) says that with repeated improvements like this, Suvarnabhumi Airport will be ranked among the world's top 50 airports by 2025.

Particularly enhanced is the Midfield Satellite 1 terminal, which opened in September 2023. This increased the airport's annual passenger handling capacity from 45 million to 60 million.

Improvements have also been made with a focus on reducing waiting times at immigration and baggage inspection areas. AOT has also announced plans to increase the number of immigration officers at its Suvarnabhumi facility by up to 200 people and increase the efficiency of security checkpoints by installing CT scanners that can detect liquids in carry-on baggage.
