On March 20, 2024, a crocodile show was held for reporters before the reopening.

Samut Prakan Crocodile Farm & Zoo is home to more than 60,000 crocodiles of all sizes, and you can see the life of a crocodile up close. In addition to crocodiles, you can also see a variety of other animals such as elephants, tigers, chimpanzees, gibbons, turtles, snakes, birds, camels, hippos, and deer.

The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) is currently constructing a new line that will run north from Deeng Chai Station in Phrae Province in the north and connect Chiang Kong District in Chiang Rai Province along the Mekong River. The new line will have a total length of 323.1 km and will have 26 stations on double track, connecting Chiang Rai City in Chiang Rai Province via Lampang and Phayao provinces in the north.

The construction cost is 72.8 billion baht (approximately 300 billion yen). We aim to open in 2028.

As of February 2024, the construction progress rate is 6.5% for Section 1 (103.7 km between Den Chai and Gao), 7.8% for Section 2 (132.3 km between Gao and Chiang Rai), and 5.5% for Section 3 (87.1 km between Chiang Rai and Chiang Kong).

SRT's Northern Line currently connects Bangkok with Chiang Mai City, Chiang Mai Province, the main city in the north, but there is still no line to Chiang Rai, which is further north than Chiang Mai. When the new line is completed, it will be possible to travel north from Bangkok, branching off at Daen Chai Station south of Chiang Mai and heading to Chiang Rai.
