Thailand Meteorological Department (TMD) warns of extreme heat
The Thailand Meteorological Department (TMD) announced that a low-pressure system caused by the intense heat is hovering over Thailand, and the heat wave continues in many areas.
A mass of high pressure and cold air from China is spreading over the northeastern region and the South China Sea, and is expected to combine with southerly and southeasterly winds covering the Gulf of Thailand and Thailand to bring summer storms to upper Thailand.
Thunderstorms, strong wind gusts and, in some areas, lightning and hail are possible, and TMD is warning residents in potentially affected areas to be alert to the dangers of the storm.
TMD recommends avoiding open spaces and standing under large trees, weak buildings, and signage. Farmers are also urged to remain vigilant and prepare for potential damage to crops and risks to livestock during this period.
Additionally, in the upper Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea, wave heights are expected to be around 1 meter, with storms exceeding 1 meter. TMD advises mariners in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea to navigate with caution and avoid sailing in stormy areas.
