The number of foreigners visiting Thailand in November 2023 was approximately 2.144 million, a decrease of approximately 55,000 from October 2023, which was 2.197 million.
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports (MOTS) has released statistics on the number of foreigners entering Thailand in November 2023.

According to data released by MOTS, the number of foreigners who entered Thailand in October 2023 was 2,144,948.

The number of foreigners entering Thailand in September 2023 was 2,197,017, so the number of foreigners entering Thailand decreased by approximately 55,000 people. There was an increase of about 70,000 people from September to October 2023, but there was a decrease from October to November. Since the number of arrivals in each country has generally decreased slightly, the factors contributing to the overall decrease do not seem to be related to country-specific factors. Travelers may have refrained from traveling due to preparation for the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announces 2024 countdown event
Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced his 2024 countdown event to be held in Thailand on December 31, 2023.

Countdown events include the Amazing Thailand Countdown 2024 at Wat Arun in Bangkok and the Korat Winter Festival and Countdown 2024 in Nakhon Ratchasima.

Thailand entry fee collection suspended, considering alternative insurance for foreign tourists
The Thai government has temporarily put on hold the collection of the 300 baht entry fee "Thailand Tourism Fee (TTF)" that was scheduled to start from January 1, 2024, after the previous government had postponed it several times. We are considering introducing alternative insurance.

According to the Thai government, confidence in Thailand's safety is currently deteriorating, and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports has announced that they are considering introducing travel insurance that it will pay 500,000 baht per person for injuries sustained in Thailand and it will pay out 1 million baht in case of death in an accident while foreign tourists are traveling in Thailand.

At a cabinet meeting on December 19, 2023, Prime Minister Setar Thavisin instructed the ministry to work on an insurance scheme for all tourists, stating that the government wants to guarantee tourists safety while traveling.

Two wild tiger cubs captured on trail camera at Kanchanaburi wildlife sanctuary
Thailand's Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation announced that trail cameras installed at a wildlife reserve in Kanchanaburi detected and photographed two baby tigers (Panthera tigris). This photo showed that the area could be a fertile habitat for wild tigers.

the department worked with the Panthera South and Southeast Asia Regional Office and Kasetsart University’s Faculty of Forestry to install trail cameras to monitor the tiger population.
The mother tiger of these two cubs was first detected and captured on August 3, 2023 at 10:03 AM, and again on August 8, 2023 at 11:38 PM, hence the tracking code TWT128F. has been assigned. However, the two cubs detected this time have not been assigned tracking codes, and are said to be the first tigers photographed by a trail camera on August 3, 2023.

Blackpink member Lisa sets 8 Guinness World Records
Thai Larissa “Lisa” Manoban, a member of the K-pop band Blackpink, has been recognized with eight Guinness World Records.

She set three records, including Lisa becoming the first solo K-Pop winner at both the MTV Video Music Awards and the MTV Europe Music Awards in January 2023.

She also achieved the record for the most Instagram followers among K-Pop artists.

Her group Blackpink also became a hot topic, becoming the only girl group with the most streams on Spotify.

Additionally, Lisa's solo song "Lalisa" has surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify, making her the first K-Pop number to do so.

With these new records, Lisa now has eight Guinness World Records, reinforcing her status as a K-Pop icon worldwide.

Thai AirAsia opens new Bangkok (Don Mueang) - Shanghai (Pudong) route
Low-cost airline Thai AirAsia announced that it will launch direct flights between Bangkok and Shanghai, China from February 2, 2024.

Operates 5 round trips a week. The aircraft used is an Airbus A320.

The planned flight schedule is as follows.
Bangkok (Don Mueang) ⇔ Shanghai (Pudong) (from February 2, 2024)
