Thai Prime Minister visits the US from November 12-19, 2023 as part of APEC
Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin is visiting the United States from November 12 to 19, 2023 to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting in San Francisco.
In addition to attending a series of conferences, he will meet with executives from major companies in the automotive, electronics, retail, and financial industries.
Carabao Group, a major energy drink company, enters the beer market
Thailand's Carabao Group, a major energy drink company, has announced that it will enter the beer market.They have officially launched two new beer brands, "Carabao" and "Tawandang", from November 2023.
The new beer are available at Lotus’s, Big C, CJ MORE, Toukdee and more.
Carabao aims to capture a 10% share of Thailand's beer market by 2024 and establish itself as Thailand's third largest beer company. The company also aims to increase its market share to 20% in the next three to five years and aim to increase its annual beer sales to 40 billion baht.
Thai AirAsia launches new Bangkok-Kaohsiung route
Low-cost airline Thai AirAsia has announced that it will launch a direct flight between Bangkok and Kaohsiung, Taiwan on February 2, 2024.
The flight operates four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The aircraft used is an Airbus A320.
The planned flight schedule is as follows.
Bangkok (Don Mueang) ⇔ Kaohsiung (from February 2, 2024)

46th Loy Krathong Festival to be held in Sukhothai
The 46th Loy Krathong Festival will be held from November 18th to 27th, 2023 at the historic Wat Mahathat in Sukhothai Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The 10-day event will feature a variety of activities designed to attract both Thai and international tourists, showcasing Sukhothai's storied heritage and cultural prestige. Highlights include an elaborate fireworks display, a traditional cultural parade involving nine districts, and a krathong (floating flower arrangement that is the centerpiece of the festival) contest.
The event will also include a Khon dance and a Noppamat beauty pageant, as well as a communal meal on the mat to foster a sense of community tradition, and also include DIY activities and photo shoots at landmark spots.
Thailand Boat Expo to be held in Phuket
The Thailand Boat Expo, sponsored by the Phuket Authority and allocated a budget of 20 million baht, will be held from November 14th to 19th, 2023 at The Playard in Phuket. The expo aims to tap into new markets for Thailand's recovering tourism sector.
The Playard in Phuket is positioned as a one-stop hub for boating and water sports enthusiasts from Phuket and surrounding provinces such as Krabi, Phang Nga and Surat Thani.
The CEO of M Vision, which organizes the Thailand Boat Expo, aims to provide the latest trends and networking opportunities at the expo to establish itself in the industry. He also said he hopes to expand the event to rival major international boat shows within three years.
The expo promises to be a vibrant festival with a variety of attractions on offer, including the world's first floating beach club, Yona Beach Club.
The number of people visiting Phuket in 2023 is expected to reach 14 million, an increase of 259% year-on-year, showing a strong recovery after the pandemic. This proves Phuket's status as a world-class tourist destination.
