Thailand Meteorological Department issues heavy rain warning for whole Thailand
The Thai Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain warning for the whole of Thailand for the week of May 29, 2023.

Heavy rainfall is expected in northern, northeastern, central, eastern and southern regions of Thailand, warning that it could lead to flash floods and flooding in low-lying and steep areas.

According to the Meteorological Department of Thailand, the heavy rains are thought to be caused by a strong southwest monsoon and a low-pressure trough extending from downstream Vietnam through Thailand to Myanmar.

The Thai Meteorological Department has advised small vessels in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea to stay ashore until May 30 (Tuesday) in view of the expected bad weather.

Residents across Thailand should stay up-to-date on the latest weather forecasts and advisories, follow directives and precautionary measures issued by local governments, and take necessary measures to ensure safety during this period of severe weather.
