World Bank cuts Thailand's economic growth outlook for 2022 to 2.9%
In December 2021, the World Bank predicted Thailand's economic growth rate in 2022 to be 3.9%. However, on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, the World Bank lowered the prediction of Thailand's economic growth rate in 2022 to 2.9%.

Currently, global demand is weakening, and external demand is likely to worsen due to slowing growth in exports from Thailand.

In addition, energy prices are soaring due to soaring crude oil prices, and the prices of various commodities are soaring, which has a negative impact on domestic consumption in Thailand.

The World Bank expected 6.2 million tourists to visit Thailand in 2022, but the global economic downturn will put pressure on Thailand's main industry, tourism and will reduce the number of tourists visiting Thailand.

Thailand is currently phasing out entry restrictions and is focusing on revitalizing one of Thailand's most important industries, the tourism industry. In order to reduce the impact of the deterioration of the global economy on the deterioration of the Thai tourism industry, it is necessary to promote further deregulation of entry restriction and take measures to attract many foreign tourists to Thailand.

The Thai economy had an economic growth rate of 1.6% in 2021 last year. This is the lowest growth rate in Southeast Asia. 2022 will be a very important year for the revival of the Thai economy.
