Thailand to discuss travel bubble with China
According to Thai Minister of Tourism and Sports Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Thai tourism officials is planning to discuss a travel bubble plan that will allow free travel between Thailand and China without quarantine.

A travel bubble is a scheme that allows travelares to freely enter and leave the country without quarantine between the two countries on the premise that they can move within a predetermined range.

Minister Phiphat is staying in China for the Beijing Winter Olympics and will discuss travel bubbles with Chinese officials during his stay.

Wichit Pakobgoson, Deputy Director of the Thai Tourism Council, said Thailand could not be flooded with Chinese tourists in the first half of 2022, but if Thai tourism authorities proceed with prompt talks, many Chinese tourists using the travel bubble could visit Thailand in the second half of 2022.

Currently, due to the strict immigration restrictions on the Chinese side, we can see few Chinese tourists in Thailand, but if a travel bubble begins between Thailand and China, Chinese tourists will return to Thailand, and it is expected to be a major driving force for the revival of the tourism industry.
