Alcohol served at restaurants in Bangkok by 9 pm
At the meeting of Thai Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration(CCSA) on January 7, the Thai government decided to partially change COVID-19 countermeasures. Thai government will forgo the tightening of behavioral restrictions and relax some immigration restrictions.

In eight provinces, Bangkok, Central Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Southern Phuket, Krabi, Phang Nga, Eastern Chonburi, and Western Kanjanaburi, which have been designated as tourist areas (blue zones) and some areas of 18 provinces, such as Surat Thani, restaurant liquor offerings will be shorten from 11 pm to 9 pm since January 9.

In addition, from January 9, 69 out of 77 provinces will be designated as controlled areas (orange zone), and the ban the provision of alcohol at restaurants will continue.

Pubs, bars, karaoke shops, etc. will be permitted to operate as restaurants from January 16th, subject to the permission of the authorities regarding infection control measures.

Laos Travel Green Zone Entry Scheme Allows Entry from Thailand to Laos
Laos launched the Travel Green Zone Entry Scheme on January 1st, officially allowing foreign tourists to enter the country.

The Travel Green Zone Entry Scheme allow foreign tourist who has been fully vaccinated 14 days prior to arrival, and foreign tourists have to be negative result for RT-PCR test within 72 hours of arrival. And tourists will be quarantined at the hotel for 24 hours upon arrival. Tourists must also have at least US $ 50,000 in health insurance.

Phase 2 will begin in April 2022, with more destinations scheduled to be added to the list, and Phase 3 scheduled to begin after July.
