Seamless Domestic Connections to Bangkok: AirAsia Fly-Thru Now Available at 9 Thai Airports

For travelers exploring Thailand, smooth connections between regional cities and Bangkok can significantly enhance the overall experience. AirAsia’s Fly-Thru transit service now operates from nine domestic airports across Thailand, allowing passengers to connect conveniently via Don Mueang International Airport (DMK).

The participating airports include Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket, Krabi, Hat Yai, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Surat Thani, and Nakhon Si Thammarat. These cities represent major tourism and business hubs across Northern Thailand, the South, and the Northeast, making Fly-Thru particularly useful for multi-city itineraries.

One of the key advantages of Fly-Thru is the issuance of a single boarding pass from origin to final destination. This eliminates the need for re-check-in at Don Mueang. Checked baggage is automatically transferred to the final destination, saving time and reducing transit stress.

In addition, passengers benefit from connection protection. If delays cause a missed connection, travelers are rebooked on the next available flight at no extra charge. This added security is especially valuable for visitors planning island hopping, cultural tours in the north, or business trips combined with leisure stays in Bangkok.

After arriving at Don Mueang, transportation into central Bangkok is straightforward. Expressways, taxis, and rail connections provide efficient access to the Sukhumvit area, one of the city’s most vibrant districts. The Phra Khanong neighborhood in particular offers a balanced mix of local charm and urban convenience, making it an appealing base for visitors.

Travelers who begin their journey in destinations such as Phuket or Chiang Mai can easily conclude their trip in Bangkok, enjoying shopping, dining, and nightlife before departure. Leveraging Fly-Thru ensures that travel time is optimized, allowing more time for relaxation and exploration.

The annual 39th Phra Nakhon Khiri Festival has opened in Phetchaburi Province, Thailand, and will run from February 20 to March 1, 2026 at the Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park and surrounding areas. The event celebrates Thai heritage under the theme “Heavenly Palace of Phra Nakhon Khiri: The Gem of Siam.”

The opening ceremony on February 21 was presided over by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who attended with his wife in traditional Thai costume, encouraging visitors to embrace cultural attire throughout the festival. More than 120 performers from the Fine Arts Department will present classical Thai masked dance, while food and handicraft zones showcase Phetchaburi’s reputation as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. Organizers expect the festival to draw over one million visitors and provide an economic boost to local businesses.

In addition to cultural shows and food stalls, visitors can enjoy light and sound displays, demonstrations of royal development projects, and traditional performances from all eight districts of the province.
