A promotional campaign has been launched in 115 French travel agencies through a partnership between TAT and Carrefour Voyages, which began in May 2024. The campaign aims to promote tourism in Thailand through both online and offline channels, with a goal of selling 2,000 travel packages by August.
TAT plans to maintain its marketing momentum in the second half of the year through partnerships with Voyages Privé, Ubatu, Singapore Airlines and the Singapore Tourism Board. The strategy is expected to attract 632,000 French tourists to Thailand this year, generating tourism revenue of at least 42.9 billion baht.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports (MOTS) of Thailand has released statistics on the number of foreign visitors to Thailand in June 2024.
According to data released by MOTS, the number of foreign visitors to Thailand in June 2024 was 2,740,372. This is a slight increase of 2,477,026 from 2,633,464 in May.
June is also the rainy season in Thailand, so it is low season, making it difficult to increase the number of tourists. In addition, the number of tourists from China, which has been driving the number of foreign tourists to Thailand, has not increased, which is also thought to be the reason for the lack of an increase in foreign tourists. Thailand in the rainy season is actually a very comfortable time of year. I hope that tourists will be aware of this comfortable time and that tourism in Thailand will be further promoted.

The Department of National Parks and Wildlife, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand will ban tourists from entering Maya Bay, Loh Samah Bay, and Loko Bay on Koh Phi Phi Leh (Krabi Province, southern Thailand) from August 1 to September 30. The reason is environmental conservation and the worsening weather due to monsoon.
Maya Bay became world famous as a location for the American movie "The Beach" (starring Leonardo DiCaprio, released in 2000). As a result, a large number of tourists visited Maya Bay, and the deterioration of the environment became a problem. After that, the Department of National Parks and Wildlife banned tourists from entering Maya Bay from June 2018 for the purpose of environmental conservation, but resumed accepting tourists in 2022 with conditions such as limiting the number of people.
However, entry is prohibited during times when the island is not suitable for tourism, such as monsoon season, and environmental conservation is being carried out.
