The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand permits provision of food and beverages on Thai domestic flights
The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has banned food and beverages on domestic flights since December 2020, but on July 23, 2022, CAAT allowed airlines to provide food and beverages on domestic flights.
When serving food and beverages, food is served in pre-packaged containers and beverages are served in bottles. In addition, flight attendants need to wash their hands regularly and with disinfectants, especially before and after meals.
In Thailand, the Omicron strain variants BA.4 and BA.5 now account for most of the total infection. It is said that the infectivity of BA.4 and BA.5 is increasing, but since May 2022, the number of infected people in Thailand has been flat and there are no signs that the number of infected people is increasing.
CAAT makes no statement about the link between allowing domestic in-flight meals to be served and the current status of infected populations. However, restrictions on entry were lifted in June and July, and the number of foreign tourists increased dramatically. The obligation to wear a mask has also been lifted in Thailand. Given that the number of infected people has not increased even in this situation, that is the reasons that in-flight meals have been permitted.
For Thai Airways International or Bangkok Air, the ticket price includes light meals and beverages. On the other hand, low-cost carriers such as Nok Air, Thai AirAsia and Lion Air have a large source of income from selling food and beverages on board, so It is expected to contribute to improving the profits of airlines by selling in-flight meals.

Bad weather in Thailand, forecast to improve by Wednesday, July 20, 2022
Due to the strong monsoon to the southwest of the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand and the monsoon trough extending from the north to the northeastern cyclone, the northern, northeastern, central plain, eastern and southern provinces of Thailand were hit by heavy rain from July 13th to July 15th, 2022. On Thursday, July 15th, the waves were a few meters high, so small boats in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea had to rise from the sea and berth on land.
According to the Thai Meteorological Department, the trough is moving north toward Myanmar, northern Laos and northern Vietnam, weakening the monsoon over Thailand, and bad weather in Thailand began to improve after July 16th. They expect that the weather will improve by July 20th Wednesday, 2022.
